Chief Building Inspector

The Building Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring the sound construction of new buildings and the safe maintenance of existing buildings and that construction and development practices are in accordance with the North Carolina State Building Code and local codes.

Some of the duties include:

Site Plan review
Structural Plan reviews
Permitting
Assist Town Planner in the town’s UDO\Town code
Assist Town planner in Floodplain Management
Conduct required Inspections in the field
Aid citizens and contractors in understanding the Code.
